Hello and thank you for visiting. I am pleased to welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year!  I am looking forward to having your child as a student.  Second grade is such a fun year with so many wonderful learning activities to celebrate. In order to have a successful year, my most important goal is to create a family of learners in my classroom.  I am committed to creating a classroom environment where your child is valued, trusted, and an integral part of our family of learners.  In order to accomplish this, I have planned a variety of activities to emphasize and reinforce this goal.  It is my hope that you will support and encourage this  vision at home.

A little about myself:  As you know, I am Maria Knight-Clark.  I will go by Mrs. Clark.  I currently live in McDonough with my husband, Sherrial, and our son, Timothy, who is 15 and is entering the 10th grade at Ola, as well as our dog, Sky.  We also have two adult daughters.  Rayne is 26 and teaches at Eagles Landing High School.  Summer is 21 and is in her last year at Georgia State University.  Wow!  Time is flying by!  They keep us busy!

I attended Florida A&M University and received my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education.  I also received my masters degree from Troy University in Post Secondary Education.

I am looking forward to an AWESOME year!!!
