The current focus is on a research-based process known as Response-to-Intervention (RTI).

Response-to-Intervention:  The RTI process is a multi-step approach to providing services and interventions to students who struggle with learning at increased levels of intensity.

The application of RTI is typically understood within the context of a multitiered model or framework that outlines a series of programs and services for students experiencing academic difficulties.

The progress a student makes at each stage is closely monitored.  Results of the monitoring are used to make educational decisions.
