Dear Parents and Students,
Thank you for taking the time to visit! I enjoy serving the role as the Gifted Support Teacher. I am honored to work with the gifted and high achieving students. My goal is to assist students by helping to enrich and accelerate their growth. Each year will be filled with engaging academics and fun-filled learning experiences! We will deepen critical thinking skills with problem-based learning through the use of creativity using class projects and presentations. The students will also lead our school with civic interest awareness opportunities reaching beyond the walls of ARE!
Currently, all students will leave their homeroom classes for 45 minutes to work in the gifted resource classroom. Students are requied to do hands-on projects in additon to using technology. Students are guided in the reseach process to gain insight on various topics related to standards in science and social studies; all other subjects are embeded in the learning. Please support your child with materials they may need to complete the in class projects. Students will complete all gifted assignments at school; however, students may complete some of the research for a topic at home. All students are encouraged to use Google Docs and/or Google Slides to help maintain the use of work in school or at home.
There are many ways you can help your child have a successful school year. Communication between home and school is vital for student success. Please share any questions or concerns you may have at any time. I am available to conference most days after school. You may email, use Class Dojo, or write a note to me and we will schedule a time that works best.
I look forward to your support and I hope you share in my excitement for our school year.
Sincerely,
Ms. Tonya Moore
