A little bit about me...
My name is Christina Pike. I have been teaching at CIE since 2004. I even attended CIE as a student for 4th and 5th grade in 1990+ 1991! Over my teaching career, I have taught 5th grade, 3rd grade, EIP, and 2nd grade. Ever since I was little, I wanted to be a teacher and knew it was my calling. Each day in the classroom brings a fresh start, new challenges, and great joy!
Two years ago, I started this journey as a Math Instructional Lead Teacher. In this role, I look forward to supporting teachers, encouraging the love of math, and supporting the parents of CIE. Whether virtual or in person, I also enjoy helping with lessons in the classroom. I love working with classes to help encourage mathematicians to use their strategies. Parents can also reach out to me or through their student's teacher for resources or help with strategies.
Not only am I an educator, but I married an educator, as well. I have been married to my husband, Andy, since 2005. Together,we have a curious twelve year old daughter named Olivia (also a CIE student), and a spunky 7 year old named Emma. In addition to spending my free time relaxing with my husband, I like to spend time with my family, reading, crafting, and going to the movies.
Please feel free to email me @ cpike@henry.k12.ga.us with any questions you have about how to support your mathematician!
