Mrs. Shumate

Hello! I am Amy Shumate. This is my 26th year teaching, and I have been at Cotton Indian since 2007. I am excited about teaching 2nd grade! I enjoy seeing the aha moments when a student "gets it"!  I look forward to helping your child learn and grow this year. 

I graduated from the University of North Georgia in 1998 with a Health and Physical Education degree. I also have a Master's Degree in Education from Troy State University. 

Some of my favorite things and places are coffee, chocolate, the beach, reading, visiting new places, shopping on Amazon, and enjoying all kinds of sports.
