Mrs. Nation    and    Mrs. Gina

Dear parents/guardians,

Welcome to Mrs. Nation’s and Mrs. Gina’s class! We are so excited to start another school year at UGE! This year is going to be full of learning, fun experiences, and lots of growth! We will work together to ensure your student is successful.

I would like to take the time to introduce myself.  My name is Amy Nation and I have been teaching for 21 years in Henry County and I am very excited for another great year at UGE.  I am happily married and have three wonderful children, Kaleb who is 22, Karly who is 19, and Kole who is 16 years old.  I graduated from Mercer University with my Bachelor’s Degree in Education and more recently completed my Master’s degree with Walden University specializing in reading and math.  I am very excited about teaching this year and look forward to working with you and your child.

 We are very lucky to have an amazing paraprofessional, Gina Hoover, working in our classroom this year.  She is happily married and has two children.   She has been at UGE for years and all the students love her!  She has so much to offer to the students and I am excited to work with her this year! 

Throughout this school year, we plan to work hard so that your child can be successful.  We will be learning to read, writing sentences/stories, and learning many math concepts!  In order for us to meet these goals, we must work together as a team.  You can help us reach our goals by reading with your child nightly, practicing sight words, discussing daily school activities, and by going over their weekly graded work. It will be exciting to see how much your child’s mind grows this year. 

As we work together to ensure the success of your child, I encourage you to be an active part in “our” classroom.  I believe that parents play a crucial role in their children’s education.  Therefore, I assure you that I will keep you posted on every aspect of the school year.  I will be contacting you through email, your child’s notebook, Class Dojo, and phone calls.   We will also have a class website that will include class news, updates on what we are learning, helpful websites, and more!  If you ever have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact me.  You can call me at school at 770-898-8886.   You can also contact me by email at amy.nation@henry.k12.ga.us or by sending a note in your child’s notebook.  This is going to be a fantastic year and we look forward to working with you and your child!
