My name is Melinda G. Dennis-Gilbert. I am originally from Cuba, AL. I am the PROUD parent of twins who are currently attending Dutchtown High School. I have been teaching in Henry County for over 20 years, and I am a highly qualified teacher.  I am SUPER excited about serving 3rd-5th grade EIP this year.   I have also taught kindergarten, first, second, and 3rd grade for several years. I have had the opportunity of teaching in Alabama, Newton, and Rockdale County. I received my B.S. from Alabama State University, M.A. from the University of Phoenix, and Ed.S. from Liberty University.

Our days and weeks will be filled with many wonderful experiences and opportunities for learning and growing. I believe in a learning environment in which students feel comfortable, where expectations and rules are consistent and clear. Children learn through many different styles, and it is very important to me that I teach using many different methods to reach all my students.I also believe that a good parent-teacher relationship is NECESSARY for maximum school success. So throughout the year, I will communicate with you through Class Dojo,  telephone calls, Google Classroom, Infinite Campus, Remind 101, and Parent-Teacher Conferences. I encourage you to contact me at 770-474-9983 or email me at mdennisgilbert1@henry.k12.ga.us if you have any questions or concerns at any time.  I am looking forward to a wonderful year with you and your child!
