We participate in the HRRB!
At the Bowl, students "buzz" in and correctly answer questions about this year's
Georgia Book Award nominees faster than the other teams.
We will sponsor a club based on the Bowl for 4th and 5th graders. Members will read and discuss the nominee books. Ten reading bowl club members will be selected to represent Cotton Indian Elementary at the HRRB.
Team members will be chosen based upon behaviors exhibited at the meeting as outlined in the team selection rubric.
The HRRB Club/Team will meet in the media center (date/time/place TBD).

Team selection will be announced before Thanksgiving break. After the announcement, only the ten chosen team members will attend remaining practices in January. Other club members are excused.
To be in the club...
1. Start checking out and reading the nominee books. You can check them out from Sora
2. Plan to attend our meetings!
3. Students will try to secure a spot on the HRRB team by earning points from the team selection rubric AND by *trying out* for the books they have read.
As always, there are many wonderful books on the GA CBA/HRRB list! Many of the books touch on complicated topics that are relevant to what is happening in our world today. We are trying to encourage students to read a variety of books AND be a competitive team at the same time! Thank you for joining us.
