• Attendance

    • The Georgia law for children attending school states that mandatory attendance in public school, private school, or home school program shall be required for children between their 6th and 16th birthdays. This law also applies to children age 5 who are enrolled in a public school for 20+ days. Such mandatory attendance shall not be required where the child has successfully completed all requirements for a high school diploma.
    • To be counted present, you must be at school for at least half of your classes during the school day.
    • Attendance letters will be mailed home after 3, 5, and 8 unexcused absences.
    • Students with excessive unexcused absences are referred to the school social worker.
    • If your child is absent from school, please email Helene Collins, helene.collins@henry.k12.ga.us.
