Virtual High School

  • Impact Academy's Virtual High School is the remote learning option for high school students of Henry County Schools.  IA's Virtual High School offers a comprehensive choice of online, synchronous courses led by highly qualified and skilled teachers. There is also an optional opportunity for students to come to the Impact Academy campus on Wednesdays for face-to-face instruction if needed.  This opportunity remains optional unless the following circumstance(s) arise: the student gets behind in coursework or starts failing classes, the student is caught cheating on tests or exams, or the student has an IEP/504 that requires accommodations that cannot be provided in a fully virtual setting.

  • Like a traditional face-to-face school school, IA's virtual school is aligned to a set daily class schedule formed into class periods.  Teachers use Google Classroom and Google Meet to meet with students each period. Each class period is designed to provide three components of learning;

    • Direct instructions from the teacher
    • Guided learning from the teacher and with other students
    • Independent learning where students demonstrate and practice what they have learned.
