This is my third year in Georgia.  I lived in hot and sunny Florida for over 20 years.  That is probably why I am always so cold and you will almost always see me in my jacket!  

My husband, Mr. Curtis, works in the film industry.  He has worked on projects that include Black Panther, Godzilla, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Cobra Kai, Venom, Kindred, and Genius.  He works with the electric department and gets the lighting just right.  He can use computers to simulate realistic fires.  It is fun watching shows with him and then finding his name in the credits.

I have two lovely grown daughters.  Kayla is 24 years old and attends UGA studying Landscape Architecture.  She works at Publix in the bakery decorating cakes and just finished an internship in Florida designing things for parks and other outside places.  Isabel is (almost) 21 years old and lives back in Florida.  She is studying to either be a pharmacist or dermatologist.  She works at Publix as a pharmacy tech.  

Although I don’t have any pets per se, we are raising bees and currently have two hives.  We also live on a lake and get to feed a family of swans and many ducks every day.

I have been teaching since before you were born!  This is my 17th year teaching.  I have taught first, second, third, fourth, and fifth grades, as well as gifted classes.  I decided that I wanted to be a teacher when I was in 3rd grade.  I would take home the old school books and play school with my brothers and neighborhood friends.
