• R.A.C.E. is an organizational strategy we teach students to help them organize their short-constructed responses. Students can use the R.A.C.E strategy to answer open ended questions that refer to a passage or passages that they may have read previously.
     
    R = Students REWORD the question in statement form 
    A = Students ANSWER the question
    C = Students CITE EVIDENCE from the text using a sentence starter
    E = Students EXPLAIN/ELABORATE on their ideas
