At HFE, we desire to recognize and celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students during the school year. Please note that, in addition to the awards listed below, other achievements may be awarded at the principal’s discretion when unexpected, noteworthy student achievements occur.

Grades K-5

Wildcat Award - Awarded based on citizenship, responsibility, and behavior. The Wildcat Award recognizes students who exhibit citizenship in all facets of school. Students will be involved in the nomination process, and teachers will determine which two students will receive the Wildcat Awards for their class. 

Platinum Paw Print Award (K)  Awarded to students who, according to the F & P Benchmark Assessment, are reading above grade level for this point in the year.

Platinum Paw Print Award (1st-5th Grades) Awarded to students who demonstrated high achievement (81st-100th percentile) on the MAP assessment in the areas of Reading and/or Math.

Golden Paw Print Award (K) Awarded to students who demonstrated high growth according to the Fountas & Pinnell Benchmark and IKAN/GLoSS assessments. 

Golden Paw Print Award (1st-5th Grades) Awarded to students who demonstrated high growth (81st-100th percentile) on the MAP assessment or Unique Learning in the areas of Reading or Math. 

Paw Print Award (K) Awarded to students who demonstrated high average growth according to the Fountas & Pinnell Benchmark and IKAN/GLoSS assessments. 

Paw Print Award (1st-5th Grades) Awarded to students who demonstrated high average growth (61st-80th percentile) on the MAP assessment or Unique Learning in the areas of Reading or Math. 

Specials Awards (Art, Music, PE, & Media) - Awarded to the top two students exhibiting the highest skill level per each special area.

*School clubs and academic teams will also present awards.

Awards: Grades 3-5

Presidential Award - Awarded to students who make all A’s and all PR or EX in Learner Behaviors on their report card, in every box, for each nine-week grading period.  

Distinguished Honor Roll - Awarded to students who maintain all A’s in the term averages for each subject and receive PR or EX in Learner Behaviors and Specials by the midpoint of term 4. 

Honor Roll -   Awarded to students who maintain all A’s and B’s in the term averages for each subject and receive AP, PR, or EX in Learner Behaviors and Specials by the midpoint of term 4.
