    SIGHT WORDS. TITLE
    We will be using Fry Word Lists as our sight words.  Fry Sight Word List
      

    The words in these phrases and on these word lists come from Dr. Edward Fry's Instant Word List (High Frequency Words). According to Dr. Fry, these words represent about 67% or all the words students encounter in their reading.

     
    We will be testing each child and starting them on the level that is "just right" for them. 
     
    *Please note: Not all students will be tested on sight words. 2nd Grade is a transition year where students move from "learning to read" to "reading to learn." While many students are still working on sight words, some will have moved beyond this skill.
