Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Barbara Fitterer
I am starting my 25th year of teaching in Henry County. However, this is my first year at Pate’s Creek, and I am delighted to be here. I have a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Tech University and an early childhood teaching degree from Mercer University. In addition, I have a Masters of Education in Elementary Reading from Walden University. I also have a special education and gifted endorsement. I am happily married to my husband, Doug. We have two wonderful sons: Shannon, who is a recent graduate from UGA this year, and Patrick, who will be a rising Junior at Georgia Southern. I am an avid tennis player! I am very sports-minded. I enjoy walking, being outdoors, and spending time with my family.
I would like to take the time to tell you how excited I am about all the new things we will be learning this year. My main objective is to encourage a strong foundation for the future. This year, your child will be engaged in various learning activities that will take place at both school and home. First grade is a fun yet challenging year for a child. In order for your child to be successful, he/she must be prepared for daily learning. Please plan to participate in this wonderful experience with them.
As a parent myself, I am on your side. I hope we can work together as a team to achieve your child’s greatest potential. I look forward to an exciting year and getting to know your children. Lastly, know that my door is always open, whether you have a concern, worry, or joy.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Fitterer
