Welcome ToMrs. Miller's Page
My name is Heidi Miller a new 5th grade teacher at Pates Creek Elementary. This is my 23rd year in education and, 20 here in Henry County. I have taught 5th grade, Gifted, 3rd grade, special education, art, and served as a guidance counselor as well.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and a Masters in counseling from Liberty University. The first 11 years of my career were not in education but as a child/adolescent therapist. With the twists and turns in life, I ended up in a guidance counselor position. From there, I ended up in the classroom. How I ended up in the classroom is a story for another time. My intention was to teach just for a year or two and go back into counseling however I found out that I absolutely loved teaching. I received my teaching certificate through the GA TAPP program and have never looked back.
On a more personal note, I have a wonderful husband of 34 years and two amazing sons that are grown and on their own. I also have a golden doodle named Keisel (named after Brett Keisel from the Pittsburgh Steelers). Needless to say, I am a Steelers fan. While I call Pittsburgh my hometown, I was actually born in Germany and grew up as a military kid. This allowed me to travel the world and experience many different cultures and unique adventures. I loved every moment. When we would come back to the states to see grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins, we went to Pittsburgh. This is why I call Pittsburgh home and love my black-n-gold.
I look forward to another new adventure at PCE teaching math and science. If you need to reach me, my email is hmiller@henry.k12.ga.us.
