All About Dr. T. Jones - At a Glance

I am excited to introduce myself to you as Reading Specialist Dr. Tanisha Jones. Please allow me to share my background as a means of providing insight regarding my own teaching and learning journey for over 28 years. My scholarship includes a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership with a specialization in Curriculum and Instruction, Master of Education with a specialization in Administration and Supervision, and Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in Journalism. My teaching certifications include Educational Leadership, Teacher Support Specialist, English (6-12), Gifted In-field, Middle Grades (4-8) Language Arts, Middle Grades (4-8) Math, Middle Grades (4-8) Social Science, Advanced Placement, Distant Learning, and Reading (P-12).   

My vast educational experience includes serving and supporting learners as an elementary literacy coach for grades 3-5; middle and high school English Language Arts educator (inclusive of academic, gifted, advanced placement, SAT, etc.); 504 and Response to Intervention Coordinator; English Language Arts and Connections Department Chair; Professional Development Trainer; Teacher Support Specialist; Student Support Team Coordinator; RCHS Star Teacher and Superintendent Award winner for multiple years; Read 180 and System 44 reading interventionist, and more! Thank you for allowing me to share my passionate professional purpose of reaching and teaching literacy learners of all ages with GREAT IMPACT!   

I am a mother, author, instructor, entrepreneur, speaker, and educational advocate. The greatest part is being a mom and loving my family to life and beyond! Sharing that same blessed bliss with yours brings joy to my heart, knowing that the home-school connection is essential for this generation and the next! It is all about our youth reaching for the stars as we love them to the moon and back! My belief is that the title of parent or guardian is a badge of honor above all else when it comes to educational achievement for scholarly success. YOU MATTER!

My hobbies include reading (of course!), writing, traveling, and gardening. I enjoy visiting museums, taking nature walks, attending concerts, and shopping for bargains. This list grows as I embrace every beautiful season of my life!

It is an honor and privilege to serve as the Impact Academy reading specialist for stellar scholars striving to improve their literacy skills by implementing the Read 180 and System 44 reading intervention programs. Many of my former students achieving academic success have met and/or exceeded their expected growth and grade-level Lexile score ranges with active engagement, hard work, focus, parent/guardian involvement, and scholarship. I look forward to working with YOUR scholar and YOU to reach his or her optimal potential during our tenure together.
