Ms. Espy

Hi there! I am Eve Espy, and I am teaching Connections Reading Enrichment, also known as Read 180. 

This will be my 10th year as a teacher, and my 2nd year at McDonough Middle School. 

I love learning and helping young people discover their passions, creativity and the power of their words. 

My Education: I have a Film degree from Florida State University, and a Master's in Instructional Technology, Media & Design from the University of West Georgia.

My certifications are in: Audio/ Video, ELA 6-12, Dramatic Writing, Special Education &  Gifted Education

My family lives in Henry County and my daughters attend Ola Middle and High School. I previously taught at Eagle's Landing High school for 8 years. When I am not teaching here, I teach Dramatic Writing and Theatre for Georgia Virtual School at night and I am a Girl Scout leader and a band parent.

Hobbies: Reading, writing, pets, travel, outdoors/camping, cycling, going to the theatre (live theatre & movies)

Fun Facts: I spent 20 years working in television; I worked for an international TV ministry; I have traveled around the world; I am a big nerd and love Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and other sci-fi/ fantasy worlds; I am a Disney fan; I love the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and would be in Ravenclaw house if I went there; I love to cook and try new cuisines; I am a huge sports fan with college sports being my favorite, especially football and gymnastics, very excited about college hockey in the South too; One of my former students is an NFL player and I support his team; I grew up near the beach in Florida.

I enjoy mysteries, spy novels and novels about places I've visited. I also read plays for fun. My kids and I listen to Harry Potter books in the car.
