Beta Club recognizes academic achievement, promotes character, develops leadership skills, and encourages community service.Students in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade with a weighted GPA of 3.0 or higher (or 9th grade with at least a 90% average from middle school) and no serious disciplinary problems are eligible for consideration.Sponsors:How to become a member of OHS Beta Club:Ola High School Beta is by application only. The application window is closed.Those interested in helping their community, developing leadership skills, and striving to maintain academic excellence are welcome to apply.If you are a 9th grader that was in Junior Beta in middle school, you still have to apply for OHS Beta (membership does NOT roll over); 10th - 12th graders that were members of OHS Beta last year, DO NOT need to re-apply. All members need to pay dues ($20), and this can be done through the School Bucks app.
Once members are accepted into Beta Club, they must attend monthly meetings and serve at least 20 community service hours per year (minimum of 10 hours must come from Beta Club-sponsored events). Please report hours served outside of Beta club projects.
PROBATION may result
- if a member does NOT accrue 10 service hours by the beginning of second semester.
- by missing more than one meeting in a semester (results in probation for the following semester).
Members on probation second semester must complete the 20-hour service mandate by March 31st to be taken off probation.
