Students!  We have an amazing opportunity for those of you taking Algebra I.  We have created a summer portal for you that allows you to earn a guaranteed 5 additional points on your final grade at the end of the semester.  Imagine if you ended the class with an 85%.  If you earn the ‘Summer Boost’, your grade would end up being a 90%.

To earn the summer boost, you are expected to complete the portal by July 29 at 11:59 pm and earn a score of 80% or higher on the Summer Boost Assessment.  The summer boost assessment will cover topics from 8^th grade Units 2, 3, 4 5, 6, and 7.  The assessment will be 25 questions.  Students will have two chances to complete the assessment during the first week of school with their math teacher.

The reason we are offering the summer boost is to ensure that: a) students are best prepared for success in Algebra I; b) teachers have the data and information that enables us to create materials and resources that support student weaknesses and builds on their strengths; c) position our student population to earn proficient/distinguished ratings on the milestone in December or May.
