Dr. Danielle Barnes

Greetings Stockbridge High School Stakeholders,

It is an esteemed pleasure to assume the role of the Assistant Principal of Stockbridge High School. I am a native of Miami, Florida, and the youngest of six siblings. I take great pride in being the first in my family to attend college, graduate, and obtain a doctorate. I am a Florida International University and Nova Southeastern University graduate, respectively. I can proudly say I broke the generational curse of poverty. While in second grade, I remember telling my mom I wanted to become a teacher when I grew up. My dream is now a reality. I am serving year 20 in public education, 11 of which included successful teaching in English Language Arts and Reading at the high school level. For the last eight years, I have served as an Academic/Instructional Coach at the middle and high school levels. Finally, I have served as an Assistant Principal for 1 year.

I am an enthusiastic and compassionate leader ready to embrace the rigors and rewards that come with the responsibility of being a school administrator/Assistant Principal. I am confident I have what it takes to lead and understand the vision to plan, collaborate, and implement it to move the needle toward success. I will strive daily to maintain high expectations for myself and all Stockbridge High School students. My responsibility as a leader is to inspect what is expected regarding teachers providing and students receiving rigorous and relevant academic standards-based instruction so that everyone can reach their highest potential. In doing so, I will foster a community of positive collaboration so that students can make real-world connections in a safe and orderly learning environment. I will ensure that academic integrity is followed with fidelity by the local school, state, and Henry County School System. Together, we will work and celebrate the diversity and achievements of all learners, no matter how big or small we commit, and pursue excellence.

I strive daily to empower students, colleagues, and school leaders to be positive change agents. I am obligated to ensure students and teachers reach their full potential. As a result, I will continuously seek to encourage people to foster a safe and secure teaching and learning environment. I will ensure that it is uplifting and motivating to create educational memories that last a lifetime. I am a team player, ready and willing to assist for the greater good of all Stockbridge High School stakeholders and Henry County.
