About Mrs. Rushing

I am so excited to be your child’s teacher this year! This is my seventh year at Rock Spring Elementary and 17^th year of teaching. I have a Bachelor’s degree from Valdosta State University, a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix and a Specialist degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of West Georgia. I taught Kindergarten for 12 years, 1st grade for 4 years. This is my first year of teaching 2nd grade, so I am excited.  I am happily married to my husband Mike and we have three children ages 20, 16 and 13. In my free time, I love traveling and gardening. I am a diehard Auburn Tigers fan.... WAR EAGLE! My passion is teaching children how to read and I enjoy staying up to date on the latest educational research.
