Welcome to the new school year.  I am excited about working with your child and together we will make this year a great one academically as well as socially.

I would like to share a little about myself. I am originally from Florida and grew up in North Carolina.  I have lived in Georgia for over 25 years. I graduated from Columbia International University in 1992. I have been teaching in Henry County since 2012. I have been a para for Kindergarten, a third teacher and a first grade teacher.  I have taught first grade for 8 years.  My interests are walking, reading, cooking and crocheting. I have been married since 2000 and I have 3 wonderful children. My oldest daughter just accepted a position with an Accounting Firm in Atlanta.  My son will be finishing his senior year in college at Georgia Southwestern this next semester.  My baby girl will be a Sophomore at UNG this Fall. 

My number one priority as a teacher is to provide an environment where my students feel valued and loved while creating memorable opportunities for growth and learning.  My goal is to help my students to develop critical thinking for daily use and lifelong success. We will work on forming good work habits and gaining independence. I believe when a child becomes comfortable in his/her environment he/she is willing to become a risk-taker and learning occurs.
