As I begin my 20th year in education, eighteen of those years have been spent working with students and parents in Henry County. As an inaugural staff member of Locust Grove Middle School, I have served the families in our community since 2009 as a classroom teacher, teaching 7th and 8th grade Language Arts, before moving into the instructional coaching position for five years. This will be my 2nd year as an assistant principal at LGMS.
I will be working specifically with our 7th grade students this school year. I am truly honored to be part of the Locust Grove family and look forward to continuing my work with Mr. Van Tone, and the rest of our staff, to advance the achievement of all students in our building. Working together, I am confident that we will continue to provide our students with a truly challenging and enriching school experience to meet our Continuous School Improvement Plan goals that are embedded within the Henry County’s Strategic Priorities and Core Beliefs.
The middle school years are important and critical times for students. What happens during these years will have a lasting impression on their growth and development. I am confident that our school will continue to be a place where our students can learn and grow academically and socially.
I am very much looking forward to working with and supporting the families of Locust Grove Middle School this school year.
