2024 Football Information

              Welcome to the 2024 LGMS football season. As we begin to prepare for our upcoming season, we want to provide you with important dates and information.

This school year marks the second year that we will have one football team comprised of 7th and 8th grade student athletes. 

No practice/acclimatization on Tuesday, July 30th due to open house

Student athletes will be expected to participate in 5 days of heat acclimatization prior to being able to receive pads. Therefore, attendance is mandatory for those 5 days. Acclimation will take place on July 29–August 2nd from 4:30 to 5:45pm on the practice field located on the side of our school. Athletes who do not participate in the 5 days of acclimation will NOT be able to try out for this year's football team.

Football try-outs will take place immediately afterschool to 6:00pm, once 5 days of acclimation is complete.

*ALL players need to have their rides available promptly at the end of ALL practices!

All players wanting to try out for football must have a current physical and all other paperwork completed and uploaded to Aktivate prior to July 29th. Click  here for instructions on setting up an account. Student athletes trying out must meet eligibility requirements in order to participate: Pass 5 out of the 6 classes from the most recently completed semester with a grade of 70 or higher, along with a cleared sports physical examination in order to be eligible to try out and play sports.

As continued from last year, we will not provide water bottles for each player.  Players are required to bring their own water bottle to practice. We will have areas designated for players to fill their water bottles during each session. Each player will need to provide their own practice clothes for acclimation. Please wear only shorts and shirts that are white, blue, gray, or black (Wildcats shirts are preferred).
