Welcome Message:
Greetings Wildcat Country!
My name is Mr. Edwards, and I am looking forward to another great year serving as your ESE Reading Support teacher! I am originally from Alabama, but I have lived here in Georgia for a little over 15 years now. I am married, and have 3 adult kids along with 2 amazing grandkids. I graduated from Alabama A&M University with a Bachelor's Degree in Instrumental Music Education for grades P-12, and taught music in Alabama for some time. I moved to Georgia in 2004. I began teaching in Henry County Schools in 2005. I started out teaching music; however, I felt a strong call and passion to work with students with special needs. I continued to teach and as I did, I went on to become certified in Special Education, and I have been a Special Education, no, an Exceptional Education teacher every since focusing on strengthing those students who may have deficits in reading. I am currently pursuing my Master's (M.Ed) in Curriculum and Instruction for Special Education. Again, it is my pleasure to support your child in his or her reading instruction here at Locust Grove Middle School!
