Bio: My name is Antonio L. Wesley, Sr. and this is my 18th year in education. I graduated from Mount de Sales Academy in Macon, Georgia during my high school years and earned a full scholarship to Middle Tennessee State University to play football. I later transferred to Valdosta State University in 2000. I graduated from VSU in 2004 and started working for Lowndes County Schools in 2006. This is my sixth year at Dutchtown High School and I am glad to be apart of the "Dutchtown Family" and learning the Dutchtown way. I am also the running backs coach for the varsity football team and Sophomore Class sponsor in addition to teaching mathematics for DHS. I met my wife while attending college and we were married in 2006. We have two beautiful kids that also attend Dutchtown High School and a two-year old son.
Philosophy of Education:
My philosophy of education is a student–centered one. I believe it is my professional duty to educate, motivate, and deliver the best pedagogical practices within my power to enable students to simply learn. Education is one of the most important factors in the evolution of both the individual and society. I feel that it is my duty and honor to give all students an equal opportunity to add value to their lives. I will accomplish my goals by adding rigor and relevance to my lessons and by teaching students in a safe, organized environment in order for them to learn and excel. I am passionate about teaching and I am loyal to my students. I want to instill in them good life-long qualities, integrity, and character that may call for me to go over and beyond the call of duty.
