The Social Studies department at Dutchtown High School welcomes parents and students to the 2023-2024 school year! We offer the following courses:World Geography, Honors World Geography and AP Human Geography for students in 9th gradeWorld History, Honors World History, and AP World History for students in 10th gradeU.S. History, Honors U.S. History, and AP U.S. History for students in 11th gradeAmerican Government, Economics/Personal Finance, Honors Economics/Personal Finance, AP Macroeconomics for students in 12th gradeWe will be offering the following elective courses this upcoming school year:Ethnic StudiesAP PsychologyPsychologySociologyIn our discipline, Milestones exams are required in U.S. History. Depending on the semester in which the student is enrolled in U.S. History, the Milestones exam will be taken in either December or May. Students in all classes have final exams in late December and then again in late May. Review will be provided for all students enrolled in Social Studies courses prior to the end of the course.We are a department steeped in scholarship, pedagogy, and are committed to rigorous standards-based instruction. Additionally, we are dedicated to building relationships with our parents and students.
