    Welcome to Dutchtown High School,

My name is Dwight Jackson and I am entering my 16th year as a Business Education instructor at Dutchtown,  I spent 23 years working in various management positions at the corporate headquarters of one of Atlanta’s Fortune 500 companies, and I also spent 3 years as a partner is a start-up consulting firm before coming into education.  I am a native Atlantan, who is married to an educator in the Clayton County School System.  I have two sons; one is a counselor in Gwinnett County and the other is employed by South Star Energy.

I have served as Assistant Coach for the Dutchtown Boys’ and Girls' Basketball teams during my years at Dutchtown.  In 2017-18, I assisted in leading the Boys’ Basketball team to their first-ever Region 4 5A Championship and an Elite 8 Finish in the GHSA State Basketball Tournament.  The next year, we again finished in the Elite 8 of the GHSA State Basketball Tournament.  I have also served as a former director/coach for an AAU Basketball Organization in the Fayette County area.  In 2012, I served as Head JV and Assistant Varsity Coach for the Dutchtown Baseball team.  The team advanced to the second round of the GHSA State Baseball Tournament for the first time in school history.  In 2012-13, I served as an Assistant Varsity Boys' Basketball Coach for a high school in neighboring Fayette County.  The team won the region championship and advanced to the second round of the GHSA State Basketball Tournament for the first time as well.

Our goal in the Career and Technical Education department is to provide your son or daughter with some skills and concepts that will help prepare them for college and/or immediate entry into the workforce.  We use a combination of lecture and performance-based activities to help the students see the relevance between what we teach and how it is used in the real world.  This year, I am teaching Banking, Investing, and Insurance, Introduction to Business & Technology, and Financial Literacy.
