Hello! I'm Ms. Baxter! I have been the Music Instructor at Austin Road Elementary since 2018. 

In General Music, we strive to introduce your child to creating, performing, and responding to music while connecting the world of music to other areas of learning and personal endeavors.  Your child will engage in various activities and lessons that will allow them to improvise, compose, share and perform.  Your child will also learn the basic foundation of music theory in reading and notating music, describing music form, analyzing and evaluating music.

I grew up around music, and at the age of 12, I picked up the saxophone.  I played in the marching, jazz, and concert bands.

I have an extensive background in the theater arts, radio, and video production.  Each area was heavily influenced by the art of music.

It is a privilege and honor to introduce your child to the world of music, and all of the various journeys it may take your child. May many doors be opened before them.
