Class ExpectationsScholar Norms
- Arrive to class on time.
- Dress appropriately by adhering to the HCS dress code.
- Respect the Learning Environment…
- Be Respectful to your teacher & peers ( allow the teacher to teach and wait until she is done speaking before you ask a question).
- Follow your teacher’s classroom procedures/directives and respectively ask clarifying questions.
- Cell phones are not permitted in the learning environment .
- Scholarly Conduct:
- Be active participants in your learning ( ask questions, pay attention, and stay engaged).
- Submit your assignments on time by the due date.

Be Respectful
- Use low voice
- Use kind words and actions with peers and adults
- Be aware of background noise (Is it school appropriate?
- Participate in recitation of school vision and creed
- Try a greeting and a smile
- Audio off must be off when your teacher is speaking.
- Raise your hand when participating.
- Follow directions
- Reach out to your teacher if you have questions.
- Take care of your materials.
- Turn your assignments in on time.
Be Prepared
- Materials are ready
- Arrive on time to class each day and remain for the duration of class.
- Scholars are expected to be in class each day on time.
- Participate on cue
- Adhere to HCS dress code guidelines - dress appropriately.
- Phones are prohibited during instructional time and unless you have permission from your teacher to turn them on.
- Make a plan to complete all assignments.
- Keep track of deadlines through Google calendar or a physical agenda.
- Attend tutoring as needed.
- Prepare any materials for the next day.
- Keep all materials in one place (organized learning area)
Be Safe
- All scholars must log in through GoGuardian.
- Scholars may only work from, view, or access approved websites.
- Do not share login information
- Speak up when I see or hear about unsafe behavior
Be Responsible
- Submit work by the deadline assigned by your teacher/grade level team.
- Take proper care of your Chromebook and report any issues with your Chromebook as soon as possible.
