Born in Detroit, I grew up in the Metro-Detroit area. From a young age I loved to read, although I did not necessarily find it easy.
I had a lot of supportive and encouraging teachers that helped me find my way. I am the first person in my family to graduate from
college.
I went back and earned a teaching degree at Marygrove College, and moved down to Georgia to use that degree.
The plan was to spend a few years to build up my resume and get some experience. I met someone. We hit it off. We ended up getting married and 18 years later I am calling Georgia my home.
I have taught in Henry County the entirety of my teaching career, all in elementary school. I decided it was time for a change and became a member of the Locust Grove Family to teach my favorite subject: language arts.
