Mr. Joe Herman

My name is Joe Herman, and I am the Instructional Effectiveness Facilitator for Austin Road Elementary. This is my 19th year in Henry County Schools and my 27th year in education.  I am extremely passionate about student achievement and helping to create well-rounded young people who are ready to serve others, solve problems, and learn new things.

I have earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education, a master's degree in educational leadership, and a specialist degree in teacher leadership.  Throughout my career, student achievement has always been my top priority.

My current role provides me the opportunity to support and improve both student and teacher achievement.  It is a privilege to support my school in this way.

Service in my community is also a passion of mine.  I have coached soccer at several clubs in Rockdale County and Henry County.  I am an active volunteer in my church, and I enjoy supporting extracurricular groups.

I live in McDonough with my wife, three sons, and two dogs.  When I have free time, I like to read, work in my yard, and watch sports.
