• What is EIP?

The Henry County School System believes that educators should have high expectations for all children and that it is our responsibility to help students achieve the academic goals of performing at or above grade level in all subject areas.  This year we are fortunate to continue the Early Intervention Program (EIP); this program allows us to provide proactive assistance to children in reading and/or mathematics.  As you are aware, the more time a child spends in direct instruction, the greater the educational gains!  The primary goal of this program is to offer immediate and direct assistance to help students achieve academic success at their grade level.

Some of the skills we will be focusing on include, but are not limited to, the following:

Reading skills-phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, and word recognition.

Math skills- computational fluency, Math strategies, problem solving, processing, and test taking skills.
