Reminder: September break is next week!
Science: Mrs. Foster
We finished out this week learning about the characteristics of the Six Kingdoms. We will begin our differentiated station labs on Sept 26th to get more practice before we test over this material. We’ve been in the lab this week for two days, so we have covered a lot of material that we need to discuss in class when we return from the break.
Social Studies: Mr. Mullvain
In social studies, after fall break, we will begin learning about the geography of Africa. Students took a pre-test this week, we will analyze their pre-test results and set up their next learning pathways the week after break. No homework over break. Enjoy!
Language Arts: Mrs. Ivey and Mr. Edwards
This week we read chapters 4-6 in The Outsiders. As students were reading, they focused on finding and identifying types of figurative language. Students should have also completed double-sided journal entries for these chapters. We ended the week with a quiz over chapters 4-6 that included comprehension, vocabulary, and figurative language. When we return from break, we will continuing reviewing figurative language and literary elements as we read The Outsiders.
