Teacher: Mrs. Holly MeltonSchool Email Address: holly.melton@henry.k12.ga.usMy name is Holly Melton. I live in Stockbridge with my husband (Ken). We have two daughters (Madeline and Mae) and a dog named Chumley, two cats named Buddy and Chloe and a bearded dragon named Sonny.I received my Bachelor's Degree in Education at Covenant College on top of beautiful, Lookout Mountain, Georgia. I began my teaching career at Smith Barnes Elementary in 1989 and worked there for 9 years, mainly teaching in a 5th grade, self-contained classroom. During those years, I also received a Master's Degree in Education from Georgia State University. Shorty after this, I decided to stay home with our children for 8 years, and I home-schooled our oldest daughter for several of those years.I returned to school teaching at Henry County Middle School in 2006. I taught 7th grade Language Arts along with 6th grade Language Arts and Social Studies for 10 1/2 years. During this time, I received my Specialist's Degree in Education from Nova Southeastern University.I transferred to Timber Ridge in January of 2016 to teach 5th grade Language Arts. I taught 4th grade Language Arts and Social Studies since then and look forward to teaching Language Arts to 4th graders again this year!!!!
