What is the LGE Mentor Program?
A program that matches young people with caring adult volunteers to serve as positive role models. Each mentor will work one-on-one to form a relationship with a student and become a trusted friend and guide. Most children want little more than to be heard and for their feelings and opinions to be validated. Locust Grove Elementary's mentoring program will provide the atmosphere that allows this to happen.

    What is Mentoring?
A mentor is a wise and trusted friend. A mentor can offer a shoulder to lean on, a friendly ear to listen, companionship and encouragement, advice and guidance. A good mentoring relationship can help a young person become more successful in life. What every child needs is an adult who remembers being a child. That's what mentoring is all about. You don't need a fancy degree. You just need to be yourself and share who you are.
