We are committed to “every child, every day…no excuses”.In order to honor our commitment to our students, we need for every child to be here every day on time.On time means this: Your child should be in the classroom, seated, and ready to start their day at 7:35. Ideally, all students need to be on campus much earlier than 7:35. We start classroom instructional activities, carry out morning procedures, and check student work from 7:10-7:35. So, if your child is late, they miss out on great opportunities in the classroom! Also, they start the day anxious, hurried, rushed, and a bit behind those who were here earlier. Please be aware that if your child comes through our front door after 7:35, they are tardy! If you arrive after 7:35, you will have to come inside to sign your child in.Here are some tips to avoid being tardy:
- Make sure your child has everything together before you pull into the traffic lane.
- Leave 10 minutes earlier when there is bad weather.
- Get your child an alarm clock and begin to train him or her to be responsible for rising when the alarm goes off.
- Don’t EVER let a child wait until the morning to do homework, get papers signed, or pack a lunch!
- Choose and lay out clothing for the next day before going to bed.
- If you simply cannot get your child here on time, consider having them ride the bus if possible.
- Let your child eat breakfast at school and avoid that morning hassle!
