Nuances of Test Optional

The only colleges in Georgia that require these tests are University of Georgia and Georgia Tech and Georgia College & State University BUTTT...
Many other Georgia colleges require the test if your GPA is low. For example, Kennesaw University requires you to submit scores if you have a GPA below a 3.2, and Georgia state university requires scores if you have a gpa below 3.4.
Also, if you want to be competitive in a competitive school, I highly encourage you to submit sat or act scores
Additionally, many scholarships require the SAT or ACT. For example, Georgia state University mostly, if not only offers FULL RIDE SCHOLARSHIPS to those who actually submit SAT OR ACT scores.

To get a Fee waiver to make the sat & act free, please fill out the free & reduced application. This is not a tax form but rather a way to see if you are eligible for a waiver not only to make tests free BUT also college application free as well!.
Steps to get fee waiver:
note: Please create an account on act.org and sat.org for your student before coming to school
- Instruction to fill out free & reduced lunch application -> https://www.henry.k12.ga.us/Page/110494
- This tells us you need financial assistance, you do NOT have to eat lunch.
- IF you are approved for free & reduced lunch, please come to Hampton to obtain from the counseling office or me in rm 211 the "sharing information with other programs" form and give to lunch lady to sign (lunch is 10:55 - 12:25)
- This form gives counselors permission to see the results of your free & reduced application
- Once the lunch lady signs it, then go to your counselor to obtain a fee waiver for SAT and ACT
- Please register for the ACT and SAT with the fee waiver by the deadline!
