Dear Second Grade Parents. Guardians, and Students:

My name is Sarah Shannon. It was my honor to meet your amazing children today and the Woodland Elementary School faculty and staff. I can already tell that we are going to have a great 2024 -2025 school year. Upon our return from the Thanksgiving break, I will start this new and awesome journey as your child’s second grade teacher.

I am an award-winning teacher, having been named Teacher of the Year and Outstanding Young Educator in my career. On numerous occasions, my students have been some of the top performing students in my previous school district. In addition, I have many years of experience in the classroom, and I am quite knowledgeable of effective teaching practices and classroom management.

You will find me friendly, easy to get along with, firm but kind, and a vital instrument to adequately prepare your child for their future academic careers. I am truly looking forward to working alongside you to help your child reach his/her greatest potential.
