General Rules for All Classes
Class Requirements:
➔ Google Classroom: All communication and assignments will be posted and turned in through Google Classroom. Students will be required to check it daily for important due dates and announcements. Google Meet links and office hours will also be shared through Google Classroom.
➔ Google Meet: Students will be required to log in and participate in live class instruction over Google Meet daily. (Follow your schedule). Attendance will be taken so it is important that students participate.
➔ Student Email: Students should check their @henry.k12.ga.us email regularly for any updates on the progress of distance learning and their classes. Please use your student email when emailing your teachers about classwork and other questions.
➔ Recording Device/Webcam: The expectation is for students to log in on time with their cameras on. Some assignments may also require you to record a workout routine, teach a skill, present a topic, etc. where a recording device will be necessary.
Weekly Assignments:
Students will be required to complete multiple types of assignments to demonstrate their knowledge of the content being taught. Possible assignments include fitness logs, virtual workouts, class discussions, group/independent projects, personal fitness plans, written assessments, etc.
Distance Learning and Live Instruction:
Students are expected to participate in all Google meetings for daily live instruction. Keeping their webcam on is highly recommended. Assignments and assessments will be posted to Google Classroom. If students have trouble accessing the technology resources or turning in any assignments, they should contact the teacher via email before the assigned due date. Late work may receive a lower grade.
Submitting Work:
In order to meet physical education goals during distance learning, students must complete any assignments given by their teacher. Students will submit assignments through Google Classroom, following the due dates posted by their teacher.
Grading Policy:
Each student's grade will be determined from the following scale:
A = 90% - 100%
B = 80% - 89%
C = 74% - 79%
D = 70%- 73%
F = 0% - 69%
Grades will be updated and posted on Infinite Campus. If a student or parent has a question about grades they will contact the teacher directly through email.
Teacher Feedback
Teachers will provide feedback on assignments and assessments through Google Classroom and/or email. Teachers will grade all submitted work and provide necessary comments.
Appropriate Attire:
Teachers will periodically host workouts over Google meet during your scheduled class time so it is important to dress in athletic clothes that will allow you to participate and move comfortably. Your teacher will inform you ahead of time when these workouts will take place so you can come to "class" prepared.
Virtual Office Hours:
See the new 2020-2021 schedule and your teacher’s website for information.
Contact Information:
All questions and concerns must be emailed to the teacher or may be addressed during office hours. (E-mail addresses are included on the syllabus and the DMS website)
Email Etiquette:
When emailing your teacher, please set up the subject line as follows:
First Name, Last Name. Period. Assignment Name or Issue.
All email language should remain professional and polite. Teachers will do their best to reply within 48 hours.
Technical Difficulties:
If students cannot log on to Google Meet for their scheduled class meeting, they should inform their teacher via email and ask for an alternative or make-up assignment. If a teacher has technical difficulties and is unable to host the Google meeting, students should look on Google Classroom for an announcement on what they are expected to do instead.
