The Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl ("HRRB") is a reading competition offered to 4th and 5th graders at Birch Creek Elementary. The HRRB is a competition unlike any other academic competition that uses questions from the Georgia Book Award nominees in a quiz bowl-like format. The students practice once a week to prepare for the big district competition in January. If our team places 1st or 2nd in the district competition, the students will represent the school district in a state-wide competition.
