Meet Ms. Thorne

Welcome to the ELE Media Center! I am so glad you’re visiting our page. My name is Lynn Thorne. This will be my seventh year as part-time Media/Tech Paraprofessional at East Lake Elementary and my 26th year with Henry County Schools. I hold a Dual Certification in Early Childhood and Special Education, a BBA in Management and a Grad Certificate in Nutrition (my latest passion). I strive to encourage all children to become lifelong learners and the Media Center is a wonderful place for learning!

I began my career with HCS working in the front office as bookkeeper/secretary when my children were in elementary school and began teaching (k and 1) in 2007. I spent nine years in the classroom. On a personal note, my husband and I have a son and daughter, a daughter-in-love, and two granddaughters. I love spending time with my family, at church and on long beach trips, health and wellness, and music. Currently, I serve as the Interim Pianist at Zion Baptist Church in Covington.

My job in the media center is to assist Mrs. Burge in meeting the media needs of staff members and students. I’m here to help with maintaining a safe, orderly, and attractive atmosphere and day-to-day operations, such as, check-in/check-out procedures, locating resources, and lamination needs.
