About Mrs. Burge

Welcome to my page! My name is Shannon Burge and I am the media specialist at the Eagle's Nest! I hold a degree in Early Childhood Education and an ESOL certification from Atlanta Christian College. Additionally, I am gifted certified and earned a Master's degree from the University of West Georgia in School Library Media. Over my 22-year teaching career, I have had the privilege of spending 20 years in Henry County. This year marks my 9th year at East Lake and my 8th year as a media specialist. 

Outside of my professional life, I am happily married to my high school sweetheart, Chris, and we have two wonderful daughters, Anirose and MadiFaith. I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends, and, of course, I love reading. I am passionate about fostering a love for reading and learning in my students and look forward to another wonderful year at East Lake!
