The Family
About Mrs. Coltharp
My name is Tammy Coltharp and I am very excited to be teaching second grade and especially being your child's teacher.
To tell you a little about myself, I have a wonderful husband named Tom, in which I have been married to for 29 years. I also have three wonderful children: Joshua (age 25), Caroline (age 22), Emily (age 21), and two dogs named Harley and Astro.
My children are very active young adults. Joshua graduated from Kennesaw State University with a degree in Criminal Justice and he is a police officer and serves as a United States Marine Reservist (Semper Fi).
My daughter, Caroline, is in graduate school at the University of Georgia pursuing a masters in accounting.
My youngest daughter, Emily, will be a senior at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga where she is pursuing a degree in Human Resources and she also plays softball for the university.
So for a little background information on me.. I did move here from the BIG state of Texas, but my home is originally from Mississippi. I graduated from Mississippi State University in 1992 with a degree in Marketing. In 2006 I received my Masters in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix and have been teaching ever since. I completed my gifted endorsement in 2017. In my spare time, I enjoy spending it with my family, gardening, and reading (my devotion, Francine Rivers books, and decorating magazines.).
I became a teacher because I realized shortly after I became a mother, that helping children grow socially, emotionally and academically, is one of the most important, yet rewarding jobs. Again, I am excited to be part of your child's life as their teacher and I know it is going to be a great year.
