Mrs. Christie Doerr

Welcome to Fourth Grade!  My name is Christie Doerr and I will be your child’s math teacher.  I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood education from Georgia Southern University and a Master’s Degree from Walden University.  I started my career in Henry County and have been teaching since 1993, with most of those years being in 3rd and 4th grades.

Fourth grade is a monumental transition in your child’s school career as independence, responsibility, and educational growth are fostered and those skills that were taught in previous years are applied to all areas of the curriculum.  Your child will learn many new skills in math.  Many of these may be new to the parents, as well, but there are a wealth of resources that can be found on my class website.  

My goal is to help make your child’s fourth grade experience fun and educationally fulfilling, as well as to create a child-centered classroom that encourages your child to become a life-long learner.  I hope your child will look forward to coming to school each day and be excited about learning!  I am looking forward to getting to know you and your family as we enter an exciting and enriching year of learning.
