Welcome
It gives me great pleasure to serve as the Literacy Instructional Lead Teacher at Stockbridge Elementary. I have been an educator for 27 years. I have taught grades K-4, Reading Recovery, EIP, and Title I. In 1988, I earned my undergraduate degree in accounting from Paine College. A few years later, I decided to follow my first dream and, as a result, I matriculated into the Teacher Certification Program at Mercer University. After one year in the classroom, I decided that I needed to know more about the teaching of reading. Hence, I earned my Master's Degree in Language and Literacy from Purdue University. From there, I went on to earn my Ed.S and Ed.D in Curriculum and Instruction Leadership from Argosy University.
I am a mother of two and in my spare time, I love playing board games and outdoor sports, reading, and vacationing.
I am very excited about this school year and I hope you are, too. Because reading is essential to everything we do, it is my goal to work with the teachers and parents of SES to ensure that our children have what they need to become proficient readers and writers. Together we can and we will have a successful year.
If you need me, please feel free to call the school or email me.
