What is EIP
Students often begin school at different stages of academic readiness. While some are early readers and writers, others are still at the readiness stage. Our EIP program provides small group instruction for students who may need extra help or support to meet academic expectations in reading and/or mathematics. As students move through the grades, EIP support may be needed intermittently and is provided by fully certified teachers. The purpose of the Early Intervention Program is to provide additional instructional resources to help students who are performing below grade level obtain the necessary academic skills to reach grade level performance in the shortest possible time.
- EIP is NOT the same as IEP.
- EIP is NOT a permanent class and does NOT take the place of regular classroom instruction. It is offered in addition to regular classroom Reading and/or Math instruction.
- Students remain in classes for content and receive additional support within the classroom or exit for support after regular classroom instruction has been provided.
