Mrs. Kelly Oxendine
Hello Superheroes!
Welcome to your second grade class where all superpowers will be unleashed. My name is Mrs. Kelly Oxendine and I will be your child's teacher and facilitator for the 2024-2025 school year. I am beyond excited about this new year of learning and lifelong experiences for all of us. Since your superheroes will be in training with me, let me tell you a little about myself.
I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio. I moved to Georgia in 2008. I have been married for 16 years to Lieutenant Colonel Calvin Oxendine who has now retired after 35 years of service. We have three wonderful children. I have a 21-year-old (Keslynn) who is a college student. I have two sons, 12-year-old (Calvin) and a 7-year-old (Kaden). My family is my pride and joy. When I am not in the classroom doing the job that I love, I enjoy quality time and anything sport-related with my family. I love to watch movies/Golden Girls, listen to music, sing, dance, play sports, ride my peleton and go to church.
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from The Shaw University in 2002 with a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication. In 2008, I became a certified teacher in Elementary Education at Cleveland State University. In 2010, I earned my Masters Degree at The University of Phoenix in Curriculum and Instruction. In 2014, I received my TAG (talented and gifted) Certification. I was also a part of the Arts Integration Team of Henry County. I am currently training for LETRS Training (Language Essentals for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) to continue to grow my craft, in addition to being a part of the HCS Alliance of Teacher Leaders. I am entering into my 17th year as an educator. Fifteen of these years have been in Henry County. I am looking forward to a "SUPER" school year.
