Mrs. Julie Haraway

Hello there, East Lake Family! 

My name is Mrs. Julie Haraway.  I am so excited to be your child's Kindergarten teacher this year, alongside my wonderful paraprofessional, Ms. Lauren Avery!  We are both thrilled to be able to help build many foundations as your child begins their elementary career! It's truly amazing to see how much kiddos grow in Kindergarten! 

A little information about myself: I am entering my seventh year of teaching and my second year at East Lake Elementary.  I grew up in Jonesboro, GA and I am the youngest of six children. I attended Gordon State College, with a Bachelor's degree and intend to begin my Master's program this coming year. In June, I celebrated 6 years of marriage to my high school sweetheart, Blake.  We have three fur babies, two cats and one beagle.  When I am not at school, I love to spend time with my family and friends, go on new adventures, and eat good food! 

A little information about Ms. Avery: Welcome to Kindergarten!  My name is Lauren Avery and I am from Monroe County.  This will be my fourth year here at East Lake.  I attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton and obtained my associates of science with a concentration in elementary curriculum.  I am currently attending Western Governors University working on my bachelor's degree to become a teacher.  I grew up in a big family with four brothers. I enjoy all things crafting and if I'm not making something on my Cricut, I will most likely be trout fishing or hunting.  I'm ready to get the year started and meet our new classroom family!
